006 An impressive home stand

The Calgary Inferno are set to close out the remainder of their season at home. This past weekend they took 2 of 3 as they hosted the Boston Blades at WinSport.

  • Friday February 28 vs Boston Blades – 4-1 WIN
  • Saturday March 1 vs Boston Blades – 1-5 LOSS
  • Sunday March 2 vs Boston Blades – 4-2 WIN

Grabbing 4 of a possible 6 points the Inferno are just one win away from clinching their first ever post-season appearance in the Clarkson Cup. The next home game series is versus the Brampton Thunder in what could ultimately be a series that determines the post-season fate for both clubs.

We managed to get some great interviews during the intermissions, so be sure to check out the game archive. We took a few key messages from sidelined Calgary Inferno player Jenna Cunningham’s intermission interview and added them in to today’s show.

Each of the three remaining games are played on different ice surfaces. The first game on Friday is played at the Joan Snyder Arena at WinSport – what we would consider the Inferno’s home ice surface. The game on Saturday is also played at WinSport, but thanks to a partnership with Hockey Calgary and a TimBits Hockey Tournament going on, it will be played in Arena A – where the Inferno had their home-opener back in November. Then comes the final regular season game on Sunday being played at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

  • Friday March 14 vs Brampton Thunder – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday March 15 vs Brampton Thunder – 3:00 pm
  • Sunday March 16 vs Brampton Thunder – 11:00 am @ Saddledome

If you want to get your FREE tickets to see your Calgary Inferno play at the Scotiabank Saddledome, they’re easy to get for the 11:00 am puck drop time.  Email [email protected] or for further information please call 403-777-4646.
