It seems as though nothing was going right for the Calgary Inferno as they were back on the road for another three games—this time in Montreal. The Inferno were simply out-muscled on all fronts being out-scored 12-4 over the three games (3-0, 5-2, 4-2).

The Calgary powerplay continued to struggle going 1 for 15, while the penalty kill was almost the reverse. The Inferno were a man down 22 times over the course of the battle and Montreal capitalized scoring five of their twelve goals with the man advantage.

Leading scorer for the Calgary Inferno, Danielle Stone, notched a goal on Sunday to stay at the top of her team, while Jenna Cunningham has tied her with six goals on the season. Stone leads with nine points followed by Cunningham’s eight.

The best chance at a win came on Monday December 16 when the Calgary Inferno lead the Montreal Stars 2-1 after the first period on goals from Julie Paetsch and Abygail Laking. Unfortunately they couldn’t hold on allowing the Stars to score four unanswered goals and ultimately the win.

The holiday break has begun as the next Calgary Inferno game is January 11 on the road in Toronto. You’ll be able to catch the live video stream on cwhl.ca of that game. The Inferno’s next home game is Friday January 31 which you can catch in person or live on PCSN.tv.
